4Mixed feelingsSep 10, 2010
I bought this camera as a replacement for a previous z series camera because I wanted more megapixels. I have mixed feelings about the purchase. Of great importance, is that the picture quality is very good and it has a lot of optional manual settings. The zoom is also better than my last camera. But I don't like the fact that there is no viewfinder (but this is now the case with most cameras); videos come out shaky because it is hard to stabilize the camera, and when in bright sunlight or trying to take a video or picture of something that is moving, it is hard to do with just the LCD screen, and it eats up the batteries quickly if you don't keep shutting it off when not immediately in use. Speaking of which the on/off button is tiny and is in front of the setting dial, so it is not easy to use. The other buttons are just as small, but raised up slightly and more conveniently located. The cover for the place to attach a usb cable is very flimsy, and it gets in the way of the plug, so that you have to keep pulling at the cover until the plug finally snaps in, and I am assuming the cover will eventually break off. It is nice to have the charger, usb cable, and batteries provided, but the case is so small, it is essentially unusable; it won't fit anything other than the camera and sd card; there is no room for spare batteries!

When there are videos to download to the computer, the camera software can't handle doing it by usb; it will appear to be making progress, but then will display error messages, and you won't be able to download any of the pictures taken after the video if using the usb. However, I found out that inserting the memory card into my laptop is a fast and easy way to transfer the videos and pictures. You will need the latest QuickTime 7 program to view the videos (which is avaible free online). But a major problem in my opinion is that these videos are not compatible with other programs or websites, so you will need a program to convert them (to AVI or MOV). When I contacted Kodak about a conversion program, they said I should be able to find one free online, and them mentioned one site but could not guarantee that it was safe (free of viruses or spyware, etc). And it turns out the site they mentioned was not a free program, you could download it for free but if you didn't register and pay $$ there would be a large watermark in the middle of the video saying it was unregistered. So I decided to upgrade QuickTime 7 to the Pro version for an additional $30. Honestly, I think Kodak should provide a free conversion program, but they obviously have some sort of agreement with Apple/Quicktimeto get your money.

2Not So GreatSep 09, 2010
I see all of these glowing reviews, and I think, is this the same camera I'm using? Well it is, but my results are apparently not nearly as good as what others are saying. First and foremost, I would NEVER buy another Kodak camera again that has the Easy Share feature. With most other cameras, you plug the camera into a USB port and it appears as a device that can be accessed as a hard drive. Not so with this camera. You are FORCED to either load the (very) crummy Easy Share software on your computer (or some other picture grabbing software), and use that as your interface, or yank the card out of the camera and plug it into a reader. Having had cameras in the past where the battery door broke, (and that is where SD card is), I am very leery of constantly having to access this compartment. I'm also definitely NOT getting those clear crisp pictures that other owners seem to get. I had a Nikon Coolpix 2100 that did better in some cases. This video is very good, as long as you don't try to zoom while taking the video. Talk about blurry, until it settles back into focus. Also, one reason I wanted 10 mega-pixel, is that I had heard that more pixels result in less grainy low light shots. This camera does pretty well in rooms during daylight, even without a flash, but is not good at all in a partially darkened room.

1this sucksSep 09, 2010
I had a Kodak DX4330 3.1MP camera before this...took great pics, but it got stolen. anyway, went to a company BBQ today to give this a test as i only got it a week ago. i put it on the "general setting" didn't want to get into anything heavy as i also gave it to other people to walk around and take pics. the pictures were horrible...half of them i couldn't even use...I'm thinking if you want a camera that needs TLC...that each photo has to be fine tuned by putting in the correct settings...hold steady...watch your focus, this might be your camera. but, if you just want clear clean shots...no matter who is taking the pictures, go back with the DX4330. I'm going to buy another..the pics were great. I am VERY disappointed and actually embarrassed about this as I'm supposed to be sending out pics to all the employees of our BBQ. sorry Kodak, just make a great point and shoot that does a great job of focusing. the 3 pictures i had of other people taking pictures of me were unbelievably out of focus. i can't even use them. glad i paid only 90 bucks....what a waste even at that price.

5Excellent PurchaseSep 07, 2010
I was pleased with this item. The camera was purchased as a package--on sale-- for less than $200.00. I was very pleased, since I had a $200 limit. I continue to learn more about the camera in relation to lighting. For example, I noticed that in black-light environments that it gets blurry. However, there are different light settings on the camera itself. Overall, this was a worthwhile purchase.

5Kodak EasyShare Z915Sep 05, 2010
Kodak EasyShare Z915 10MP Digital Camera with 10x Optical Image Stabilized Zoom and 2.5 inch LCD Black Kit (includes Battery, Charger and Bag)

I bought This camera for the very good offer it came with, 8 GB SDHC, Battery Charger and 2 AA rechargeable batteries, a case and 2 Alkaline replacement batteries. All for about $89! What a deal
The camera itself is not bad at all for this price, it has 10X optical zoom!
It takes crisp clear pictures at normal zoom, but when zooming closer you need a tripod or keep hands steady..it is very sensitive to shaking. The stapilizer feature is not that much effective iot seems.
The camera is made of plastic and very light in weight.
Video shooting is not HD but that's still very decent and acceptable to me.
I would recommend this camera to everyone wishing to go from normal to little advanced level
