Nikon Coolpix L100 ReviewSep 01, 2010 I have had this camera for around a year now. I use it for vacations and taking pictures of family mostly. This camera will either be your best friend or your worst enemy depending on what your needs are. A large LCD screen, easy to use controls, and an AMAZING 15x zoom will make your pictures turn out great if you want to use them for a family album. If you are looking to get anything out of this camera besides family album pictures, you will be highly disappointed. When enlarged (even on the 10mp mode) say to hang on a wall, etc. your pictures will look grainy beyond belief. This won't be a problem for most people though. Another negative is the bulky size of this camera...you have to make sacrifices though to get 15x zoom. To conclude...if you are alright with taking around a camera case with you everywhere you want to take pictures and aren't going to enlarge or sell your photos...you will love this camera.
I rate this one a DON'T buyAug 25, 2010 I had a Cannon that worked great for many years- bought this camera because they didn't make my memory card any longer. I back everything the one star reviews had to say. I have taken blurry, fuzzy, terrible "trash can" pictures repeatedly. There is no "capture" the moment with this camera. You can't trust it. I have missed many magical moments because the picture was awful and got tossed and I don't take fancy pictures- I am talking every day, family moments. Now the camera is eating batteries like mad and I have only owned it a year. The shutter sound is also so loud everyone in the room knows you are taking a picture. Big mistake here- will not buy Nikon again.
Horrible Image QualityJul 14, 2010 Do not buy this camera. It's a waste of money. You will be disappointed. I only wish I could return mine.
Good!!Jul 01, 2010 This camera is giving me all I wanted from it, it's easy to use, great quality, and for beginners like me it helps a lot to get familiar with the photography stiles and everything. It's a good thing to have.
Nikon Coolpix L100Jun 19, 2010 Ever since seeing years ago a nearly $1000 Sony made camera similar in design to this one I have wanted a camera like this. I used to do freelance photography at college and have been a fan of Nikon cameras since the original FM. This Nikon camera has a tremendous zoom range and sells for around $200. Hard to believe it's been superseded already by another similar model, but such is life in the digital camera world these days.
