Good design. color,finish and material are outstanding. But photo quality is not good enough compare to Cannon.
I have two compact size of camera. Old one is Cannon and new is Samsung... New Samsung doesn't give me a satisfaction as much as I expected before I purchased.

I am a big fan of this camera - had it for a bit over 6 months now and taken 3-4000 pictures with it. It is easy enough for my 10 and 11 year olds to use it and take good shots, but also has the versatility to do change more advanced settings if I need or want to do so.
The main problem is that it looks like Samsung discontinued it. I think the WB 1000 is the replacement for it, but Amazon does not have that available as of today (Aug 2009). I was actually looking for a camera for my cousin and had enjoyed this one so much that I thought I'd see the price on Amazon and discovered that it seems to be unavailable, so now I have to find something else for her!

Long story short I'm returning this camera and I wish I'd have listened to the dissenters on here. The mixed reviews this camera is getting on other sites is totally warranted. The image quality is just sub-par. The features are awesome, the screen is excellent (better than on other comparable models I looked at like Sony's Cybershot series), and I even found the common complaint of the complicated menu system to not be so bad. But the bottom line is that even on the highest quality setting with the lowest ISO setting the grain is out of control. It's ridiculous. My four year old Canon S70 took better looking pictures and that's just inexcusable. Touch screen, hd-video capability...it doesn't mean anything is the photo quality isn't there.

Well, I own this Camera for almost 1 month now. The Samsung TL34HD is considered a great camera for the price. While it has its positives, but it does have its flaws. Such as the location of the flash, the design and the blurry pictures on some preset shooting mods.
In general, if you can afford to get extra bucks, I would rather choosing another brand that has better reviews. However, the Samsung TL34HD is one of the top. 14.7mp with great picture quality for such a price.

the usability of this camera is great. With touch screen, you can quickly and easily change settings without worrying about missing those great shots. The picture is outstanding and capable of very large formats. I'd say the biggest downer with this camera is that it's a bit fragile. Other than that, it's a great investment product.
