Older versions are better qualitySep 04, 2010 I love to take pics. I have worked a little with DSLR's but mostly point-click.
This camera is inferior to previous comparable Sony Cyber Shots, such as the P100- 150 which were 5.0 and 7.2 mp's
1. Even though this is newer and almost twice the mp's the quality is not as good as the older ones. Pictures are not as crisp and sometimes when it over focuses on middle objects and the sides become more blurred than necessary.
2. The video is roughly the same. Its better to get the next version up which now is like a $20 price difference because this one is not HD video like the one up, which is 720p.
3. I can't manually change the focus. Such as. 0.5 meter, 1 meter, 6 meter. The older versions did even though their mega pixels are under 10.
Overall invest in a different camera that take better image quality and video quality, it is worth it. I'm looking at a Luminex.
LOVE the burst featureAug 28, 2010 After buying a $500++ bigger Olympus camera and was severly dissapointed with the digital quality (even though I had previously had good luck with Olympus) I decided I would rather have a small camera I can slip in my pocket to get all of those can not miss shots.
The best thing about this camera, is the burst mode, If you have it on the normal camera mode, the green camera on the dial. go into the menu and set your shutter to burst.
You can then take 4-8 consecutive photos with one pressing down of the button.
I can then take great shots of my kids and uncooperative husband, seems that first photo is always so rigid and then they let lose just that tiny bit for the perfect shot.
Top it off with my Creative Memories Memory Manager Software ( a HUGE bang for your buck in photo storing and editing) I can clone from one picture to the next and get an almost perfect photo.
I've done this with a group of men (who we all know don't cooperate) and got a great final product. I also did this with my daughter's baseball team and got a great shot of the kids.
Well worth the price, fun features great grab and go keep in your pocket or purse camera.
Excellent pocket camera for the priceAug 21, 2010 The best things are: large aperture allowing taking pictures without flash indoor. Large and crispy LCD monitor. Take very good pictures. Battery life is not very long but keeping a spare definitely helps. Bought one for myself, my child and my boss.
Sony digitil camera W230May 12, 2010 I love this camera. The 3" screen is the best. I had a Sony camera before and loved it, too. A great replacement with a great price.
Sony CameraMay 04, 2010 I am pleased with the purchase of the Sony Cyber-Shot camera. We have four Sony cameras in our family and are very pleased. Purchase on Amazon made comparisons and pricing very easy.
